This level provides the core knowledge of Requirements Engineering. It encompasses elicitation of requirements with appropriate documentation; requirements verification and validation as well as their management throughout the end-to end product life-cycle.  

Taking a classroom training course is not an entry criteria for the exam, but it is recommended.

Target Audience

The Foundation Level addresses the needs of all people involved in the topic of Requirements Engineering. This includes people in roles such as Requirements Engineer, business analyst, system analyst, product owner or product manager, developer, project or IT manager, or domain expert.

Exam Mode

• The exam must be completed within 75 minutes and covers about 45 multiple choice questions. On request non-native speakers may be granted a 15 minute extension.
• To pass the exam, you must achieve at least 70% of the total possible score.
