Audience

The ISTQB® Certified Tester Advanced Level – Agile Tester (CTAL AT) Syllabus v2.0 is intended for testing professionals and others involved in Agile software development, including: Test analysts,Test engineers,Software developers,Business analysts,Product owners,Scrum Masters,Quality managers.  
It is also suitable for individuals seeking to contribute to quality in Agile environments and who:Collaborate effectively within cross functional teams,Apply modern Agile testing practices,Support faster, higher quality delivery,Share ownership of quality across the Agile team.The ISTQB® Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) v4.0 or previous versions is a prerequisite for the CTAL-AT certification. 

 

Content

This syllabus forms the basis for the International Software Testing Qualification at the Foundation Level.
Its content is not a description of the entire knowledge area of software testing.

Business Outcomes

A candidate who has achieved the Advanced Level Agile Tester certification should be able to:

  • Collaborate in cross-functional teams, being familiar with principles and basic practices of Agile software development.
  • Adapt existing testing experience and knowledge to Agile values and principles.
  • Support the Agile team in test planning.
  • Apply relevant Agile software development approaches and test techniques to ensure tests that provide adequate coverage.
  • Assist business stakeholders in defining understandable and testable user stories, scenarios, requirements, and acceptance criteria, as appropriate.
  • Create and implement various Agile software development test approaches.
  • Support and contribute to test automation in an Agile software development project.
  • Work with – and share information with – other team members using effective communication styles and channels.
